Cybersecurity grant application now open to counties

A new grant from the Department of Homeland Security designed to help eligible entities address cybersecurity risks and threats to information systems is now open to counties. Counties in Kentucky are eligible to apply for funds from the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program.
The turnaround time for applications to this grant is extremely tight - the deadline to apply is Oct. 24. KACo recommends that you review the application requirements and get started as soon as possible if you plan to apply.

There are a number of steps in the application process, including:
Step 1: Download and read the Grant Application Guidance Document, them complete the gap assessment form
Step 2: Secure vendor quotes, then download and complete all necessary support documents Supporting documents include:
- Budget
- Project narrative
- Self certification - cyber vulnerability assessment
- Self certification - governance and personnel
- Financial hardship waiver
Step 3: Complete online application
Step 4: Submit your completed application
Note that all applicants applying for federal grants awars must have an active UEI number. Learn more here: https://sam.gov/content/home.
