DavidJenkins
The 2008 KACo President is Spencer County Judge/Executive David Jenkins. President Jenkins serves on the KACo Executive Board and its Board of Directors, and on the KACo Workers Comp Board. He is chairman of KACo’s Legislative Committee. Jenkins is a member of the Southern Economic Development Council and the Kentucky Industrial Development Council, and serves on the KIPDA Board of Directors. Also, he is a member of the Legislative Committee for the Kentucky Association of Area Development Districts and the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association. Jenkins took office as the Spencer County Judge/Executive Jan. 1, 1999. He has been instrumental in bringing over $2.3 million in new money through grants to the county for water, health services, parks and roads. He led the initiative to establish the Spencer County & Taylorsville Economic & Tourism Office, and in 2001, he led the governmental initiative to further improve economic development in the region through formation of the Taylorsville-Spencer County Industrial Development Authority, Inc. He also formed the Spencer County Water Task Force.  Jenkins is active in the community as past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Ruritan Club. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star. He serves as chairman of the Spencer County Health Board. 

Before being elected as judge/executive, Jenkins owned Greenwell-Jenkins Funeral Home in Taylorsville. He also served as Spencer County coroner from 1990 through 1998.

President Jenkins is involved in every aspect of KACo. He has set many goals for 2008 and looks forward to implementing those goals for the betterment of Kentucky's counties and for the Association.
